Photo Station and General Settings
DSM admin (or a user belonging to the administrators group if Photo Station's account system is set as DSM accounts) can go to Settings > General to manage the basic settings of user accounts, display language, Personal Photo Station service, photo sharing over social networks, etc.
Choose Account System
Photo Station administrators can choose to integrate DSM user accounts into Photo Station, or manage independent user accounts.
Note:
This option is not available for Personal Photo Station.
To choose an account system for Photo Station:

Sign in to Photo Station as DSM admin, and then go to Settings > General.

In the User Accounts section, choose either of the following options:

DSM accounts: This option allows DSM admin to integrate DSM accounts into Photo Station.

Photo Station accounts: This option allows DSM admin to manage independent accounts for Photo Station.
Manage User Accounts and Groups
Photo Station administrators can create, edit, or delete user accounts. In addition, users can be organized into groups for easier management.
Note:
Creating or deleting user accounts is not available if Photo Station's account system is set as DSM accounts. You will need to log in to DSM as DSM admin (or a user belonging to the administrators group), and then go to Main Menu > Control Panel > User to manage the user accounts.
To create a user account:

Sign in to Photo Station as DSM admin, and then go to Settings > User Accounts.

Click Create User, enter user information and assign privileges.

If you like, do any of the following:
- Choose whether you want to disable this account. Doing so will deny the user's access until it's enabled again.

Choose whether to allow this user to modify his/her account information.

Choose whether you want to set this user as Photo Station’s administrator. If this user is set as admin, he/she will be able to sign in with his/her own account and perform administrative privileges.
To create a user group:

Sign in to Photo Station as DSM admin, and then go to Settings > Groups.
- Click Create Group, enter the information for the group, edit its members and assign privileges.
Sign in to Photo Station as DSM admin, and go to Settings > User Accounts or Groups to grant users/groups the right to perform specific tasks on all existing albums at once. Or you can navigate to Albums, browse to an album and click the gear icon to modify user/group privileges to that album.
Note:
With the Manage privilege, users/groups can perform most of the tasks on an album, including editing album information, editing photos, etc. However, album managers will not be able to do the following:
- Delete existing tags.
- Change the permission types of albums.
Change Display Language
You can change Photo Station's display language to
be the same as that of DiskStation or your browser.
To change display language:
Sign in to Photo Station as DSM admin, and then go to Settings > General. Choose an option from the Display language drop-down menu.
Enable Personal Photo Station Service for DSM Users
DSM admin (or a user belonging to the administrators group if Photo Station's account system is set as DSM accounts) can enable Personal Photo Station service to allow all DSM users to have their own Personal Photo Station.
Note:
Only local users can use Personal Photo Station.
To enable Personal Photo Station service for DSM users:
- Log in to DSM as admin (or a user belonging to the administrators group), go to Main Menu > Control Panel > User and click User Home to enable user home service.
- Sign in to Photo Station as DSM admin, and go to Settings > General. Tick Enable Personal Photo Station service.
- When the Personal Photo Station service is enabled, go back to DSM again, and then choose Options > Photo Station from the Options menu (with a figure icon) at the top-right corner of DSM desktop to enable their Personal Photo Station.
Share with Social Networks
When you browse your albums, you can share links and upload photos from Photo Station to your social network accounts.
To manage social networking websites:
- Sign in to Photo Station as DSM admin, and then go to Settings > General.
- All website services supported by Photo Station are enabled by default. If you want to disable certain services, simply uncheck them from the Social Network List.
To upload photos to social networks:
- Select the photos you want to upload, and then choose Share > Upload to [social networking websites].
- In the window that appears, click Connect with [social networking websites] and then authorize with your social network account.
- If you want to upload the photos to a new album, choose Create a new album and name the new album. If you want to upload the photos to an existing album, choose Upload to an existing album and choose the album from the drop-down menu.
Configure Router Ports
When you set up Photo Station's port forwarding rule on your router, if you specifies different port numbers for the router port (assigned on your router) and the local port (assigned on your DiskStation), you will need to enter the router port number here to make sure Photo Station files you shared to Internet services (such as external photo editors or social networks) can be accessed successfully.
To enable router port configuration:

Sign in to Photo Station as DSM admin, and then go to Settings > General.

In the Router Port section, enter the DNS hostname or public IP address of your DiskStation in the Hostname or static IP field.

Enter the router port number you specified when you set up Photo Station's port forwarding rule on your router in the HTTP or HTTPS fields.
